A Time to Stitch!

Welcome to the blog hop for "A Time To Stitch" hosted by Therese Frank and Christine Altmiller.

Although I didn't have as much "time to stitch" as I would have liked, I did get a chance to create two little peyote swatches using some red, white and blue seed beads I purchased several years ago for some fun, summery stretch bracelets.

I love the look of the icy, white swatch and how well the shiny and matte beads complement each other.  I also like the red, white and blue swatch and plan to turn it into a bracelet for the 4th of July. Every girl needs at least one patriotic bauble, right?

I'm sorry I didn't have more exciting designs to share with you today, but I know the other blog hop participants will more than make up for it!  Thank you so much for stopping by .... tomorrow I will be posting about my Bead & Button Show experience!  Have a great day!

Hi Lola,
Thank you for participating in mine and Christine's challenge. I understand about life getting in the way. The swatches look great! I really like the mate and shiny beads they give just the right Bling. I did a red white and blue piece too!

Oh, I do love those swatches! And I hadn't thought of making it with stretch cord, I'd love to know how it feels as a bracelet. Great job!!

I like the combination of the matte and clear beads. When I bead my bullets I mix a few in once in awhile. Thanks for sharing!

Even though I don't live in the USA I would love that as part of a bracelet. Beautiful matte and shimmering colors and perfect for summer.

The swatches are wonderful. I love the different white beads on the first one and the red, white and blue one is perfect for the holiday. :)

Isn't it fun to experiment with different finishes on the same color of beads? Your white swatch is really cool - and patriotic piece will be perfect for the 4th!

Hi Lola! Those swatches are awesome! I have never thought of mixing matte with the shiny beads but now I think I need to!

I love that white and silver swatch! Nice and wintery, which I appreciate in this hot weather.

I can understand being pressed for time -- Bead and Button is a seriously awesome event, and there's so much to do! Looking forward to tomorrow's post. :)

Lola, you mention turning these into a stretchy bracelet; are you using elastic thread for the peyote stitch? I'd. Ever even considered the possibility and am now wondering exactly how that would work.

Thanks for sharing your work in progress! I'm in the same boat with you there.

Cheers,
