Challenge of Travel Blog Hop -- Sweden

Welcome to the Challenge of Travel Blog Hop, hosted by the lovely Erin of Tesori Trovati.  Please fasten your seat belts as I take you on a whirlwind tour of two cities in Sweden that I hope to one day see in person.

The first city I would want to visit in Sweden is Stockholm.  I mean seriously ... is this place gorgeous or what?

This particular photo may have been enhanced, or perhaps it was taken on a super, duper sunny day, but I don't care ... I am in love!  Everything about the buildings in this city make me so happy ... shapes, sizes, colors, configurations ... I wanted to wear something just like it on my wrist.  So, I grabbed some polymer clay beads I had made a while back, some strong elastic cord and chain, and created "Home Sweet Holm."

I wish I had started my research earlier because I would have loved to have made a few more colorful beads.  Sigh ... procrastination has once again limited my possibilities. Nonetheless, I really love this bracelet and am inspired to make more!

The next city I would like to visit in Sweden is Jukkasjarvi.  Look!  They have a hotel there made out of ICE!

How COOL is that? =)  Now look at the little "Marvy Jarvi" ice sculpture I made for my wrist ...

I love those quartz beads ... they even feel cool on my wrist!

For your additional whirlwind touring pleasure, check out these nice little slide shows I found of both Stockholm and Jukkasjarvi, created by tourists who had the pleasure of visiting these cities in person.  I hope to one day make a slide show of my very own.

Thank you for joining me on this travel adventure ... it was short and sweet, but oh so much fun!

Now fasten your seat belts again as we prepare for our next stop.  You can find the full travel itinerary on Erin's blog. Happy Hopping!

Hi Lola,
Thank you for taking me along on your trip to Sweden. I loved Stockholm and the keepsake you made to remember the city is beautiful. The colors are reministic of the colors of the beautiful old city.
I enjoyed our stay at the ice hotel, but next time I will be sure to bring extra blankets. I love the icy bracelet to remember the visit to Jukkasjarvi.
Dear Lola I truly hope that you get to visit these city for real one day.

Hi Lola, what a great blog-hop-challenge-tour this is! It was great for me to find out that someone had Sweden as the inspiration country. You see, I am Swedish :-). I used to live in central Stockholm, and pretty much passed by that view in the first picture every day on my way to work or studies over many years. My husband now works pretty much right across the water from it. :-) And guess what, that picture is not enhanced. It does look like that on a sunny summers day. Stockholm is a beautiful city indeed. What you see in the photo is the very old parts. Nowadays we live outside the city center, in a very much countryside like place. It is beautiful here too. And I love that I still have the easy access to the city center. And how about the ice hotel in Jukkasjarvi!!!! I've never been there myself. But of course I'd love to go. It is a fantastic project, and they actually pretty much build it from scratch every new year. They invite architects, artists and designers from all over the world to contribute.

Both your pieces inspired by Sweden are beautiful!

And if you ever come to visit Sweden, please let me know, and I can share some more favorite places. And we could meet IRL also of course :-).

Love the color combo in your first piece, and your second piece is indeed very cool looking. Spent some time in Denmark a while back, but unfortunately did not get to hop over to Sweden. Scandinavia is a beautiful area. Enjoy your travels.

I love the colors in that bracelet, as well as the way you used your links to contrast. Lovely, just like Sweden.

Yes - your first picture of Stockholm is awe-inspiring, as is your bracelet design! While I love the beads you made/used, I really like the addition of what appears to be multiple jump rings - very cool! I have read about the hotel made out of ice....I am a cold blooded person and I know I would enjoy a stay there myself! Great inspiring bracelet! Nice job on both counts!

Lola, that photo of old Stockholm is unbelievably beautiful... there is a particular quality of light in northern latitudes, I think. That Ice Hotel is so unique!

I love your amazing rondelle beads, and how you have used them to express those one-of-a-kind colours in the buildings. The Ice Hotel for your wrist is also lovely. (And those cool punny names are boss, girl!)

Sweden is such an amazing place with a rich history. I hope to be able to enjoy it in person one day, Lola.

Clever girl! I love that you used those colorful beads you made as a nod to the buildings. Very pretty! And I love that ice hotel! Not sure that I could actually stay there... but it would be fascinating to visit! Thank you for joining me on the journey around the world, Miss Lola! Enjoy the day. Erin

Oooh, Lola!!!!!! I love your bracelets! That hotel in Jukkasjarvi is one I've dreamed of seeing for years! Or at least, I think it is the same one... how many can there be? *rofl* I saw it on a travel show and thought "someday"!!! I hope you get to see these beautiful places someday, sweet lady! And if you do, send me a postcard! <3

Lola, greetings from Stockholm. I can assure you that the colors are real. You beautiful color choice really reminds me of the Old Town in Stockholm, seen in the pic. I've never been to Jukkasjärvi, but I really would love to sleep in the Ice Hotel, surrounded by snow under the stars and the Nordic Lights.
